BERKSHIRE

Cliveden House near Taplow is the county's best known historical landmark; built in the mid-nineteenth century for the Duke of Sutherland in a 16th century Italianate style. It was later the home of the Astor family.

There's also 14th century Donnington Castle with its twin tower gatehouse, while Quarry Wood beechwood near Cookham Dean offers walkers a place to stretch their legs.
